Founder, Licensed Landscape Architect

Kurt grew up in a suburb of Detroit and pursued studies in landscape architecture and horticulture at Michigan State University. After receiving his Bachelor of Landscape Architecture in 2001, Kurt worked in southern California for 10 years. Following his heart and his love for the northern forests, he moved to northwest Montana in 2011. He is passionate about the challenge of placing homes on mountainsides and restoring sites to their natural splendor. And as a lifelong outdoorsman, Kurt enjoys spending time with his wife camping, hiking, canoeing and cooking in the woods.

Logan Lynch

Landscape Architect in Training

Growing up in the Smoky Mountains of Western North Carolina, Logan was exposed to thoughtful residential design from an early age. Working closely with his father’s waterscaping business, he gained experience designing and installing koi ponds, sometimes working alongside landscape architects. Following his graduation from Louisiana State University, Logan returned home to experience the effects of Hurricane Helene on his hometown, which for him emphasized the importance of sustainable and resilient design. With a love for the mountains and a desire for more snow, Logan is excited to work on challenging residential projects and explore the backcountry.

April Vomfell

Finance & Marketing Manager

Born and raised in Washington state, April lived in New Mexico and Wyoming before moving north to Montana. She has a bachelor’s in English and a master’s in library and information studies, and worked for many years in publishing, public libraries and marketing before she and her husband, Kurt, started an urban farm business in 2015. April splits her time between flower farming and managing the finances and marketing at Terra Designworks, and she spends as much time as possible outdoors enjoying Montana’s water, mountains and forests.
